Review
Ultrapdf consists in what we could call here a “digital backpack”. Why would we call it that? Because this application let you create a container in wich you could carry almost anything you want, like photographs, all kind of Microsoft Office documents, PDF and HTML files, all together in one single file. This is a whole new type of file wich extension is .updf.
So, how does it works? Well, it is really easy and fast. First of all, after installation of the application on the PC you will lanch Ultrapdf from its desktop icon. What you will see then is extremely simple and intuitive. The interface consists of three tabs as follows: View an UltraPDF document; Create an UltraPDF document and Creat a Photo Album.
In the first tab all you will see is a flat big button, not very nice by the way, so you have no choice. If you push the button a browser window will open so you can search your ultrapdf document and launch it. This is not a very neccesary action since you can lanch an ultrapdf document directly by doble-clicking on them.
The second tab, the creation one, is a little bit more interesting than the first one. Now, we have two main sections and again, our beaty button. On top, the Selection files section allows you to choose the files you want to put in your new backpack, set the order to list them and even save this list for further use. The following section is where you input the document information such as Title, Subtitle, Author, Date of creation and we also have a couple of really cool options. You can check the Background music checkbox and you will be prompted to select a mp3 soundtrack from your hard disk, that will be automatically played will you are displaying your updf document at a later time. You can alse check the Loop music check box so the music won't never stop. At last, you can set if you want automated transitions, the time (in seconds) between them and the type of transition (standard, dissolve, wipe, fade and box).
Once you are done setting all the information required, all you have to do is to push the button and the updf document is ready.
The third and final tab is to create a photo album. This is identical to the former tab only here you can only select picture type files.
The Ultrapdf documents open on the web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer) and you will see on the left the list of items contained in the order you set on creation. |
